NRDC Action Fund Activist —
I'm Kayla Calkin, the NRDC Action Fund's political director. I'm sending
you a personal note because of the urgency of this moment.
Right now, Congress is negotiating the critical budget reconciliation
legislation that will help make President Biden's Build Back Better agenda
a reality.
Here's the part I can't get over: If passed, it will be the most historic
investment the U.S. has EVER made in addressing climate change and
shifting to clean energy.
I'll be honest. We must pass this bill if we hope to stop the worst
impacts of climate change.
And here's where I hope you can help. This work is so critical that a
generous donor will match any donation you make, up to $40,000, but only
for THREE MORE DAYS. [ [link removed] ]Can I count on you to make a $5
donation now for climate action?
Here's something else to consider: The fact that we're this close to
passing such a consequential pro-climate bill is due in large part to the
climate champions we helped elect to Congress in 2020 in key states like
Georgia and, of course, in the White House.
Next year are the midterm elections, but the narrow pro-environment
majorities we won in both the House and the Senate are at serious risk.
We need to escalate pressure on Congress now to pass vital Build Back
Better legislation, and then fight to elect or reelect as many
environmental champions as possible ... especially those who are standing
up to the oil lobbyists on our behalf.
[ [link removed] ]Your $5 gift right now
will help us do both — and thanks to this matching gift offer, every
single dollar you give will be DOUBLED, up to $40,000, until November 8.
Thanks for your help.
