Right before the election, Kansas Republicans hosted an "overreaction" committee that was flooded with lies and misinformation. 

The committee was a colossal waste of tax-payer dollars, and was nothing more than a political circus that spread dangerous lies to Kansans. 

Here are some of Kansas Republicans' top lies:

• Sen. Mark Steffen said the debate over vaccine mandates is part of a larger war for the "soul of our nation," and that the CDC calling the vaccines "safe and effective" is a "propoganda campaign."
• Rep. Brenda Landwehr compared mask mandates to "racism against the modern day Jew.”
• Sen. Mike Thompson told reporters after the hearings that people "actually died almost immediately after receiving a vaccine."
• Rep. Trevor Jacobs referred to COVID-19 as the "Chinese flu." 

None of Republican committee members objected to to misinformation spread during testimonies. Comments made ranged from calling mandates "medical rape" to equating COVID-19 vaccines to "child sacrifice."
