John, here’s something that you may not know about Henry Cuellar:

Cuellar has a long track record of catering to the oil and gas industry. He’s even been dubbed as “Big Oil’s favorite Congressman.” In fact, he relied on last-minute corporate checks, television ads, and mailers funded by the American Petroleum Institute and the Koch Political Network to get re-elected in last year’s election.

And now, he’s been caught working with Senators Kyrsten Sinema and Joe Manchin to oppose the Methane Fee, which could comprise President Biden’s Build Back Better Agenda.

Congress is set to vote on the Build Back Better agenda TODAY. Our community in South Texas is still reeling from the economic impact of COVID-19. We all faced the debilitating effects of the global pandemic. We urgently need the Build Back Better agenda to pass in the House to restore our communities — but we know Henry Cuellar will continue to align himself with moderates and Big Oil and oppose President Biden’s Build Back Better agenda no matter what.

In just this cycle alone, Rep. Cuellar has received $100,200 from the Oil & Gas industry. Throughout the Build Back Better budget reconciliation process, six major oil and gas drillers spent $15M to lobby against climate action.

Even more, four oil and gas companies that have reported “specifically lobbying against methane regulation” have all maxed out their donations to Rep. Cuellar this cycle:

Simply put, Henry Cuellar is bought by the oil and gas industry and will do whatever it takes to please them — we cannot depend on him to work for the best interest of South Texans in Congress.
