Watching the election results roll in here in Virginia Tuesday night was humbling. Republicans won big, and now pundits are pontificating about what it means for races like ours in 2022.

This is a wake-up call. 2022 is shaping up to be the biggest challenge we’ve faced yet.

Seven Republicans are already campaigning to unseat Abigail next year, and national Republicans and outside groups are ready to pour more money into our district to attack Abigail and distort her record.

Every day since being elected to Congress, Abigail has worked hard to protect health care, expand access to broadband, and cut prescription drug prices. These issues impact people’s lives on a daily basis.

We have reason to be hopeful, though, and it’s because of supporters like you. We worked so hard to flip VA-07 in 2018 — Abigail was the first Democrat to win here since 1968. And in 2020, it wasn’t any easier. You’ve been by our side through the toughest challenges, and we’ve overcome them every time.

Tuesday night didn’t turn out the way we hoped, but I know that together we can accomplish anything. That’s why I hope you’ll consider contributing to our campaign today. Every contribution shows that we are motivated and ready to do what it takes to win next year.
