Team, it’s Native American Heritage Month. Throughout the month of November, New Mexico Democrats celebrate the impact of Indigenous communities on our nation’s culture and the spirit of our state.

Native communities are vital to the history of New Mexico. Despite years of violence and anti-Native sentiment, Native communities continue to remain strong and thrive, passing down their cultural traditions and emphasizing their communal values. Their resilience in the face of insurmountable adversity is a testament to their hard work and sacrifice.

As we work to right the wrongs of the past and continue into a future that emphasizes true inclusivity and diversity, New Mexico Democrats are doing their part to make sure Native voices are heard. Through outreach programs designed to build coalitions and uplift community voices, we are doing our part to create lasting change.

While our work is far from finished, we are delighted at the opportunity to continue our work, creating safe spaces for Indigenous voices and values.

In solidarity,
-- New Mexico Democrats
