Don’t mess with moms and dads – that’s the prevailing takeaway coming out of yesterday’s two major electoral races, especially in the state of Virginia.

Virginia Governor-elect Glenn Youngkin’s victory over former Governor Terry McAuliffe culminated a bruising campaign, with much of it focused on a rising backlash against the “woke” policies of the radical left.

At that time, New Jersey’s gubernatorial race was too close to call.

Pundits suggest the turning point of the race in Virginia came when Mr. McAuliffe rejected the idea that moms and dads have a voice in their child’s public-school education.

“I don’t think parents should be telling schools what they should teach,” he stated during the second debate.

Senator Hawley Will Introduce Amendment to Stop Forcible Conscription of Women

U.S. Senator Josh Hawley will introduce an amendment this week to remove a provision from the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that requires women to register for the draft.


In the current proposed draft of the 2022 NDAA, Section 511 is titled “Modernization of the Selective Service System.”


The section amends the Military Selective Service Act (MSSA) to require “every person” to register for the draft. Section 511 also amends sections of the MSSA in several ways:


“By striking ‘male citizen’ and inserting ‘citizen’;


By striking ‘male person’ and inserting ‘person’;


By striking ‘present himself’ and inserting ‘appear’;


And by striking ‘so long as he’ and inserting ‘so long as such alien’.”


The senator’s proposed one-page amendment to the NDAA is just three words long: “Strike section 511.”

Supreme Court Justices Grapple with Texas Heartbeat Law During Oral Arguments

On Monday, November 1, the justices of the U.S. Supreme Court heard arguments in two cases involving Texas’ Heartbeat Act, aka S.B. 8, which prohibits abortions once a fetal heartbeat can be detected. In the first, brought by abortion sellers in Texas, and in the second, brought by the U.S. Department of Justice, the justices wrestled with the question of whether federal courts can step in before any abortionist is sued for violating the law, and block the law’s effectiveness before a court’s final determination that it is unconstitutional.




The uniquely designed Texas law empowers private citizens, not state officials, to enforce the law. That feature throws a monkey wrench into the typical pro-abortion lawsuit brought to annul a pro-life piece of state legislation. Ordinarily, federal courts issue injunctions against state officials, ordering them not to enforce the law while the underlying constitutional lawsuit progresses. In legal jargon, that’s called “pre-enforcement relief.”


With no Texas official empowered to enforce the heartbeat law, however, and no identifiable private citizens yet who might bring lawsuits to enforce the law, the federal courts are struggling to find a proxy who can be enjoined.

The Mama Bear Movement is Rising

Across America, the Mama Bear Movement is rising and literally changing the political landscape of this country. These moms are a diverse group of ordinary women motivated to protect their children from an aggressive and progressive agenda being pushed by special interest groups that believe they know what is best for all children.


The movement started to take shape at the beginning of the pandemic in March of 2020, as parents became aware of what was being taught to their children in the classroom. Moms began asking questions about the curriculum, reviewed books in the school library, and listened to what was discussed in their children’s classes.


The more moms heard, the more frustrated they became. Special interest agendas were being promoted in the classroom rather than the best interests of the children.


It became clear to the Mama Bear Movement that many schools across America, both public and private, were promoting racist curriculum in the name of racial reconciliation, teaching sexually explicit and abusive material in the name of sexual tolerance, and willfully jeopardizing the safety of children at school in the pursuit of affirming the transgender movement.
