There’s no other way to say this, this week’s results were tough. Republicans won big in Virginia, New Jersey, and even here locally in Connecticut. Democrats just got a major wake-up call for 2022.

We cannot let this loss slow us down. Democrats need to wake up to the reality that 2022 is not going to be easy. Republicans have the advantage and political pundits are predicting they’re going to flip the House and the Senate.
Worse — Trump is rumored to be basing his possible 2024 run on next year’s results. If we lose the House next year, it makes a Trump comeback all the more likely.
If we want to have any chance at holding our majority, we’re going to have to work harder than ever to make sure we hold every single Democratic seat — but with only one year until Election Day 2022, we’re running out of time to stop the GOP’s momentum.
The future of our climate, Social Security, paid family leave, and more is hinging on this next election. We cannot risk Republican control and a return to Trump-era policies.
