In a debate a few weeks ago, the Democrat candidate who ran for governor in Virginia stated, "I don't think parents should be telling schools what they should teach."

Parents responded loudly by electing the pro-parent Republican candidate for governor. I don't blame them one bit.

Parents have the right to direct their children's education and to stand against Critical Race Theory, liberal indoctrination, and a curriculum that teaches everything but reading, history, math, and science.

The Department of Justice recently threatened to designate parents who engage at school board meetings as domestic terrorists. The DOJ and the FBI should focus on real terrorists, not parents involved in their children's education.

As a mom, I want my children to be encouraged to achieve more, learn more, and lead more. I want my girls to know they can fulfill their God-given potential. Don't you?

I get a front-row seat to see my husband work to protect the rights of parents because he respects their voice and engagement. He believes that parents need support, not opposition.

We are both proud when parents get more involved in their children's education and find thoughtful ways to speak out as a family for freedom and values.
