There are a lot of opinions about the results of the Virginia and New Jersey election this week, and I don’t think there’s one easy answer that explains everything. But I do think what we saw Tuesday night shows really strong evidence that Democrats ignore rural voters at their own peril.

Here at BACKROADS, we are working to change that. We can’t turn the tide of 40 years of Democratic inaction in rural communities overnight — It’s going to take sustained, committed support from folks like you.

That’s why today I’m personally asking if you will contribute $5, $10, or any amount to show that you are dedicated to BACKROADS PAC’s mission to communicate with rural voters and stop the Republican dominance in rural America?
 

Thanks to the internal polling we’ve been doing, we saw the results of the elections in Virginia and New Jersey coming. We’ve polled folks in most rural reaches across the country, and they are tired of Democrats not working with them to find solutions to their biggest problems. Democrats just attacking Trump isn’t going to cut it.

This is an all-hands-on-deck moment. It’s going to take a massive reinvestment in candidates, messaging, and voter contact. It won’t be easy, but Democrats are doomed if we don’t try.

Please, contribute any amount you can today to show your commitment to making sure Democrats can compete everywhere. If we can’t make progress on our mission, Republicans will be beating us in rural communities for years to come by creating insurmountable margins.
