>>CLICK HERE TO SIGN OUR PETITION PRESSING FOR A VOTE ON BIF FIRST<< Hi Friend, This summer, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi promised, in writing, to rally support for a vote on the bipartisan infrastructure bill (BIF) by no later than September 27. Here we are more than a month later, and there still hasn’t been a vote on it. And now, Speaker Pelosi appears to be teeing up a vote first on the entirely separate one-party reconciliation bill, commonly known as the Build Back Better bill (BBB). This isn’t right, especially because members of Congress have barely had any time to even read what’s in the reconciliation bill. This week, five courageous Democratic members of Congress—Ed Case, Jared Golden, Josh Gottheimer, Stephanie Murphy, and Kurt Schrader—sent a letter to the Speaker saying they wanted at least 72 hours to review any reconciliation bill, and only after the text was final and they could fully understand its potential impacts on our economy and the federal budget. We’re asking the No Labels community to stand behind these five members and encourage them to stay strong by asking them to demand the Speaker allow a vote on #BIFFirst. Please go on your social channels and tell your friends to press for a vote on #BIFFirst. |
