THE STATE OF THIS RACE

Michael is running to build on the progress he’s achieved for Colorado’s families. He’s expanded the Child Tax Credit, and is working to pass it for another year to cut taxes for middle and lower income families and Michael secured a path toward historic investments for Colorado’s infrastructure. Michael is being targeted by National Republicans and people around the country are saying we “ought to not ignore [Colorado] anymore,” (Chuck Todd today on MSNBC). You see, the National GOP raised $76 million to flip seats like Michael’s and eight right-wing GOP opponents jumped into the race.

The GOP primary field is stacked with candidates attacking Michael’s record — one plastered Colorado airwaves with misleading ads — and spreading conspiracy theories, so this race is anything but safe. With the fundraising strength of the National GOP, your support will help Michael fend off these attacks.

WHAT IT TAKES TO WIN

Winning an election is hard work — especially in a competitive state like Colorado. Building long-term relationships with voters, establishing digital campaign infrastructure, and hiring and training organizers is critical to re-electing Michael to the Senate.

Our key priorities in the coming months are:

-- Hiring key staff — from organizers, to our digital and finance teams.
-- Building a rapid response program so that we can fend off GOP attacks that distort Michael’s record.
-- Telling the story of Michael’s achievements for Coloradans - on climate change, healthcare and more — so voters head to the polls knowing the progress he has made for our state and our country.

With the GOP’s wealthy and extreme slate of opponents, we can expect them to get plenty of airtime. We can fight back by honing in on these priorities. But it’s going to take a mighty grassroots effort to get there.
