“If we keep this map the way that the Republicans have imagined it, we are talking about a disenfranchisement of an additional 1.25 million Latinos by the next time these maps are drawn.” -- Voto Latino CEO María Teresa Kumar

Friend,

Texas Republicans are working overtime to disenfranchise Latino voters, because they know Latinos tend to vote for Democrats.

First, they passed an onerous voter suppression law that placed a disproportionate burden on communities of color. Now, Texas Republicans are attempting to implement gerrymandered maps to dilute Latino political power in Texas. Young Latinos overwhelmingly vote for Democrats, which is why these maps are designed to give Republicans a significant advantage in next year’s midterms.

Voto Latino is committed to protecting Latino voting rights in Texas and beyond. That’s why we’re suing Texas -- again -- for their antidemocratic policies. Will you pitch in now to support our work mobilizing Latino voters in Texas and across the country?

We’re proud to have former Attorney General Eric Holder with us in this fight. He didn’t hold back when describing exactly what’s at stake if Texas Republicans implement their proposed maps:

“The map signed into law by Abbott increases the number of majority-white districts and decreases the number where communities of color could have an opportunity to elect their preferred candidate.” -- Attorney General Eric Holder

Help us build Latino political power >>>[link removed]

Republicans know that when our young Latinos are organized and mobilized, our votes are an unstoppable force . That’s why they’re working so hard to stop us. Young Latinos turning out to vote in Texas and nationwide will be a deciding factor in whether Democrats keep control of the House next year.

But we’re not giving up. Our team at Voto Latino is prepared to do whatever it takes to build Latino political power in Texas and across the country. Will you rush a contribution now to help?
