Tuesday's election did not go as we'd hoped, and now we'll fight twice as hard to protect our progressive values. That's why I want to share some positive news out of Washington. But first I want to thank you for all your help lately.
The redistricting process is in full gear here in Pennsylvania, and over the last month my team and I have been preparing to protect our district from attempts by the Republican-led state legislature to gerrymander me out of my seat. We launched our Litigation Fund to make sure we'll have the resources to defend ourselves in court as long as need be.
Thanks to you and hundreds of other supporters in October, we not only hit our fundraising goal, we exceeded it.
Thank you, John. Thank you for helping us make sure I can keep fighting for Pennsylvania and the United States.
Because of you, I've got big news on one of my top-line priorities: expanding legal access for everyone. Thanks in part to my advocacy, Attorney General Merrick Garland announced just last week that the Office for Access to Justice— which makes legal aid available to those who can't afford it— is officially being revived, after Donald Trump effectively shuttered it.
The only reason I was able to keep pushing for this incredible office to be restored is because you were watching my back. Now Americans can begin rebuilding their trust in the United States justice system that was eroded by the last administration. And we won't stop until everybody is treated fairly, regardless of wealth and status.
See, John, while you were giving me the resources to defend my seat in court, I was busy making sure all Americans could protect their best interests in court, too. Your support has a direct and measurable effect on my ability to do my job, and on all Americans' quality of life.
I truly cannot thank you enough for that. Thank you for helping me do my job. Thank you for all you do.
