Four years ago, I stepped up to take on a four-term incumbent here in Georgia's 7th district. Many doubted us. They said this district could never be won by a Democrat, but we knew better.

Together, we put this race on the map. One year ago today, we changed the course of history. We won this district for Democrats — and we were the only Congressional district in the country to flip a seat from red to blue. We then delivered Georgia, the White House, and just two months later the Senate, to the Democrats.

I was — and still am — incredibly humbled by the opportunity to serve you every single day in Congress.

Our work, however, is nowhere near finished. We still have a lot to do to bring clean-energy infrastructure, good-paying jobs, Medicaid expansion, and quality education to communities across Georgia.

We know anything is possible, but we have to work together to make it happen. This race is turning out to be one of the most expensive races in the country — Republicans have already spent nearly $4.5 million attacking me.
