“The Republicans are coming.” That’s what the Detroit Free Press wrote about Michigan after a Trump-backed candidate won the Virginia Governor's race on Tuesday.

Here’s what they mean. Virginians voted decisively for Joe Biden in 2020. It wasn’t even close - Donald Trump lost by 10 points!

In Michigan, President Biden won by less than three points. My friend Gary Peters won by less than 100,000 votes.
