On the heels of resounding Republican victories across the nation & the state, underscored by strong municipal results in Eastern Connecticut for Republicans, the National Republican Congressional Committee has designated CT-02 as a target seat for the 2022 midterm election.
"I was thrilled to see this announcement from the NRCC," Chairman Proto said. "This is just another positive sign for Connecticut Republicans, on top of what looks to be a growing 'Red Wave' in our municipal elections, that Connecticut voters are ready for Republican leaders to take on the Far-Left Democrat leadership that has been failing voters for too long.”
Proto added, “There are two myths I've heard about the Second Congressional District:
“The first is that it's a safe seat. No Democrat is safe with Joe Biden’s spiraling agenda.
“The second is that Joe Courtney is a 'moderate Democrat'. Undeniably false. Rep. Courtney has voted with Nancy Pelosi and her far-left agenda 100 percent of the time. He voted for the Iran Deal and anti-police bills. He voted to impeach our last President with no evidence. Yet, as a member of House Armed Service Committee, he has been completely silent on President Biden's myriad foreign policy catastrophes.
“Joe Courtney has betrayed CT-02 turn after turn. We're past due for Republican leadership from CT in DC."
