It’s been a crazy 48 hours in the Garden State, but I couldn’t be prouder to be a New Jerseyan today. Gov. Murphy defeated Trumpism to become the first Democratic Governor to win re-election in the state since 1977!

But let’s be clear, this race was much too close for comfort.

Last year, President Biden won by a significant margin, but Donald Trump’s influence almost flipped the state red just a year later. And it’s only going to get tougher from here.

Over the last few months, we’ve seen parades of fundraising events featuring Donald Trump and his right-wing extremists in Bedminster. And on top of everything, Trump’s vast network of big-money donors is fueling GOP campaigns like Jeff Van Drew’s.

This is a clear wake-up call for Democrats in South Jersey and across the country.
