Folks -- We just got some grim news. The NC General Assembly just passed new redistricting maps. It’s an extreme gerrymander meant to shore up GOP power. NC voters deserve fair, balanced districts that actually represent who we are. These maps are yet another partisan attempt to undermine our democracy.

This also means that the stakes in our race against Madison Cawthorn just got even higher. Under these maps, the new NC-14 district is now one of the ONLY competitive Congressional races in NC.

While the NC GOP drew up lines that drastically favor them statewide, our new district has been made significantly more Democratic with the addition of Watauga County. This is a major swing and we’re ready to hit the ground running in organizing in every corner of the new district to deliver the leadership WNC deserves.

We can make Cawthorn a one-term congressman. But this also means that national right-wing special interests are going to pour in money to support Cawthorn. We’re ready and we have a plan:

Provide a clear contrast to Cawthorn’s divisiveness and extremism.
