CoP26 a chance to tackle methane emissions

The CoP26 climate summit is under way and we’ve already seen positive action in the form of the Global Methane Pledge. Methane is a greenhouse gas with a relatively short life in the atmosphere, but it is 86 times more potent that carbon dioxide over a 20-year period. And methane emissions are responsible for 25 per cent of the warming experienced today. EIA has been in the vanguard of efforts for action on methane and the new Pledge is an encouraging step towards an effective global agreement.

Boss of major TCM firm fired for corruption

China's ruling Communist Party has fired Gao Zhenkun as boss of one of the biggest traditional Chinese medicine brands and expelled from the Party for corruption, bribery and nepotism. EIA has flagged the firm for using endangered species in some products.
