I know that this past Tuesday’s election results are not what any of us wanted. Despite the countless hours volunteering, millions of doors knocked, phone calls made, postcards written, and small dollar donations across our Commonwealth, the politics of hate, racism, and fear won the day. I couldn’t be more proud of everything Democrats accomplished here in Virginia these past two years: expanding voting rights, legalizing marijuana, ending the death penalty, and becoming the best state in the nation for business while raising the minimum wage. For the next four years, our Democratic State Senate will be a blue wall to prevent Republicans from rolling back that progress.Tuesday was a warning sign - Democrats must be at DEFCON 2, preparing for a vigorous campaign in 2022. We cannot take any of our hard fought victories, our collective rights, and our individual liberties for granted. Democrats have already passed a COVID relief bill, expanded the child tax credit and cut child poverty in half. In the coming days we'll pass a massive infrastructure investment along with the Build Back Better bill to expand Medicare benefits, enact paid family leave, and invest hundreds of millions of dollars to fight climate change.



On Tuesday in Virginia, Democrats were swamped by dark money and the right-wing noise machine to drown out our accomplishments. I’m committed to making sure that doesn’t happen in 2022 but I need your help.
