Team,

On Monday the Supreme Court heard arguments in the case challenging S.B. 8 in Texas, one of the most extreme abortion bans in the country. And next month the Supreme Court will take up the Mississippi abortion ban case -- one that could determine the future of Roe v. Wade.

The abortion ban in Texas is just one of the record levels of abortion restrictions and bans that state legislatures passed this year, including right here in New Hampshire. An unprecedented 106 abortion restrictions have been enacted by states so far in 2021 -- the highest number since Roe v. Wade in 1973.

I hope the Supreme Court will do right by the Constitution and protect the right to choose for all Americans. But the reality is with an anti-choice majority of judges, we can't rely on SCOTUS to defend Roe v. Wade.

That's why last month I voted for the Women's Health Protection Act (WHPA) which would enshrine the right to choose in federal law. The House passed this urgent legislation, but we still need the Senate to act.

Defending reproductive rights has never been more urgent. Add your name to join me in calling for the Senate to take immediate action to protect reproductive rights by voting on the WHPA.

Thank you,

Chris
