Hi John,

I had intended to send you a simple thank you message today, because thanks to you, we reached our ambitious fundraising goal in October. I really do appreciate everyone's generous contributions to this campaign. However, that was before Election Night's disappointing results here in Suffolk County and around the country, which need to be acknowledged.

Although overall, Democrats did not win here in the Town of Brookhaven, I was fortunate enough to have your support, making me the only Democratic legislator in the town to win last night. I am grateful and honored by your support. Once all the votes are counted, there will be plenty of time for analysis and punditry, but one thing is already crystal clear: We have a lot of hard work ahead of us my friends.

Knowing the battle we may face, it means even more to me that you're with me in this fight. New York's 1st District will be one of our very best opportunities to gain back ground in 2022 and secure long-overdue and desperately needed progress for the American people. I am convinced you are as serious as I am about building a campaign powerful enough to meet this moment. The stakes are too high to fail.

With the commitment from everyone on this team, we can, and we will win this election.
