Friend,
This week, Black voters in New Jersey, Virginia, and across the country headed to the polls or dropped off their ballots. While we watched results pour in, this election reminded us of two important things:
ONE: There's no such thing as "off-year" elections. The results of each local and statewide election will send shockwaves through Black communities, and it's crucial our voices are heard at the polls.
TWO: This week's election served as a preview of what's to come in the midterms. The fight against voter suppression is at a boiling point, which means we'll have to work harder than ever before to ensure every Black voter is registered and able to vote.
Friend, will you chip in $5, $10, or whatever you can now, to fuel our voter engagement efforts? If we're going to get voters to the polls, we'll need an even bigger coalition of grassroots supporters to get the job done in 2022.
In solidarity,
