It is with so much gratitude and confidence in science that we are able to share that our son, Daniel, will turn 39 next March.
Daniel had a series of tonic-clonic seizures, his first, during his junior year of college, and he almost didn’t survive. He was blue when the ambulance arrived, and he spent a week in the ICU. Between the day he returned home and this one, every breakthrough Daniel experienced in his fight against this disease has been, in part, because of CURE Epilepsy.
In 2017, after medication failed to stop Daniel’s seizures, we attended CURE Epilepsy’s Los Angeles Day of Science. Because of CURE Epilepsy, and because of what we learned that day, Daniel sought a second opinion.
Today, we are so humbled and thankful to share with you that Daniel had surgery in March of this year and has been free of tonic-clonic seizures ever since. We owe this to advances in research and to CURE Epilepsy’s ability to connect the public to that research.
Please join us and make a gift today. Epilepsy is as old as humankind, yet there is no cure. Together, we have the power to change that.
With so much gratitude and hope,
Paula and David Allbeck
