Last night, Trump-backed Republican Glenn Youngkin defeated Democrat Terry McAuliffe in Virginia. He self-funded to the tune of tens of millions of dollars and had Trump's full support.

While the results are disappointing, we saw glimpses of hope from across the country. Thankfully, it looks like New Jersey Governor Democrat Phil Murphy will overcome a Republican challenger, and candidates in local elections beat back massive outside spending by the far-right.

The coming weeks and months are going to be make or break for Democrats, but the good news is that we know what we need to do:

1. Pass the Build Back Better Act and Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework so we can make transformative investments for working families and the country.

2. Elect more Democrats to strengthen Democratic House and Senate majorities.
