There is no question that the coronavirus challenged the city of New Orleans in ways that nobody saw coming. However, Mayor Cantrell's battle-tested leadership has helped keep New Orleanians as safe as possible.
She imposed protective measures that were guided by science and facts. Mayor Cantrell also made sure financial assistance was available to residents and businesses during hard times. She established a meal assistance program for residents that fed over 11,000 New Orleanians, provided 4,000 residents with emergency rental assistance, raised millions for the city's Gig-Workers Relief Fund, and so much more.
