Team — Honestly, I can’t believe I have to say this. Lt. Col.
Alexander S. Vindman, the White House’s top Ukraine expert who
testified today as part of the House’s impeachment inquiry, is an
American patriot and a hero.
And it’s a damn shame that some commentators have
chosen to slander him.
Lt. Col. Vindman came to the United States as a child and served
his country with honor, earning a Purple Heart during his service in
the Army. Now as a member of the National Security Council (NSC), he
continues his service to our country - when he felt that the national
security interest of our country was put at risk by Donald Trump’s
charades, he spoke out, not once, but twice, to top lawyers
at the NSC.
Today, because Lt. Col. Vindman felt compelled to testify in front
of House investigators, some talking heads on TV have decided to
attack his motives.
“It seems very clear that he is incredibly
concerned about Ukrainian defense. I don't know that he's concerned
about American policy ... we all have an affinity to our homeland
where we came from ... he has an affinity for the Ukraine.”
— Fmr. Republican Congressman Sean Duffy on CNN.
“You know, some people might call that espionage,"
— Fox News Commentator John Yoo when asked about
Vindman’s actions on the NSC.
Oh, and let’s not forget President Trump’s tweet about the
occasion:
Questioning the morals of a man who has served his country so
honorably is downright shameful, and frankly, we should be ashamed
that our political discourse has gone down this dangerous path. But
that’s what we get in a country where our commander-in-chief uses the
bully pulpit to actually bully people.
Lt. Col. Vindman and our country deserve so much better than this,
and it makes our mission that much more important.
Can you help us rise to the occasion and
restore dignity and sanity to our national dialogue so that patriots
like Lt. Col. Vindman won’t have to endure having their good name
slander by the worst our nation has to offer?
Thank you,
Bill
