Dear Jack,

Greetings from the Valley of the Sun! Wherever you are — whether you're enjoying the crisp beauty of fall colors or feeling the chill of snow or basking in still sunny skies warming your days — I truly hope you and your family are healthy and doing well.

My family and I are healthy, thankfully. Everyone is fully vaccinated against COVID, the few that require them have received their boosters, and despite a few breakthrough cases, I can gratefully say following public health measures and CDC guidelines has offered formidable protection to our friends, extended family, and community.

What amazing strides we’ve made in one year: several highly effective vaccines that are free, proven safe, and widely available. I continue to marvel at the achievements of the scientists and researchers (and volunteers!) who created and tested the vaccine, as well as of the folks who manufactured, packaged, distributed, and administered millions of vaccines across our nation, and billions across the globe.

Nevertheless, not a day goes by that doesn’t remind us of the scars of 2020, the devastation of the pandemic, and the fact that it’s not behind us yet. Meanwhile, the battles we have been fighting for decades continue to demand our attention and engagement.

Despite the wins of last November, families everywhere are struggling with the all-too-familiar issues of substandard wages; lack of sick leave and workplace protections; the high cost of healthcare, housing, childcare, and eldercare; and the perpetual threats that come with the worsening climate crisis.

When I was a candidate for Congress, I made a commitment to fight on behalf of Arizona families, and families everywhere, to make their lives healthier, safer, and more rewarding. After all, being a public servant means serving the public, right? Although I didn’t win my election, I remain in this fight.

As a mother, a physician, a scientist, and an American, I have continued to use my voice to advocate for the policies that we hold dear, including quality, affordable healthcare for every single American.

You’ve been an invaluable partner of mine along this incredible journey, and for that, I’m deeply grateful. I sincerely hope you stay at my side so we may continue to do our part to deliver a future we know is possible - one that is healthier, more equitable, safer, more inclusive, and more just.

Each day my resolve to create that future grows stronger, and I’m thrilled at the prospect of working together over the months and years ahead to support and elect leaders who demonstrate their dedication to public service and the wellness of our country.

As we forge ahead, I’ll have some news to share with you soon! Please add your name to our list to let me know I can count on your continued partnership in this exciting and impactful endeavor >> [[link removed]]

Through hard work, opportunity, and immense support from my family and good public policy, I had the chance to realize my American Dream. Let’s make sure every kid across our beloved nation can realize theirs.

Take good care and let’s talk soon.

Warmest regards,

— Hiral
