Great news: paid leave is back in!
Yesterday, we emailed you about Build Back Better—sharing that although we were excited about the once-in-a-generation investment represented in President Biden’s Build Back Better framework, key supports for families were missing, and we could not push forward without them. Today, however, the U.S. House of Representatives is advancing a version of the Build Back Better Act that does include paid family and medical leave, as well as a one-year extension of the improved Child Tax Credit, historic investments in child care and Pre-K, relief for families struggling to pay rent and buy groceries, and much more.
With Congress expected to vote on this momentous package in the next 48 hours, there’s no time to waste! Contact your Representative and urge them to vote “yes” on Build Back Better!
