John,
Yet another critical piece of legislation protecting your freedom to vote was just blocked on Capitol Hill.
Senate Republicans just filibustered the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act — even after key senators, including Sens. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) and Joe Manchin (D-WV), reached a bipartisan breakthrough compromise yesterday.
It’s a sad day in America when only one Republican in the United States Senate stands up to support every American’s freedom to vote.
Our democracy is under tremendous stress. Shutting down legislation that would guarantee equal access to the ballot box — before it’s even debated on the floor — is just plain wrong.
But this is not the end. We’re not stopping. We’re going to continue to fight for this bill and demand that the Senate do whatever is necessary to get this done.
Our democracy is on the line — tell your senators that America deserves a debate on voting rights — and that they must pass this important bill now.
Call your senators NOW at (202) 224-3121 and tell them to pass the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act!

Tell your senators:
Blocking debate on the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act — a bill that would protect the freedom to vote and guarantee equal access to the ballot box — is plain wrong. The Voting Rights Act has been reauthorized in the Senate numerous times by overwhelming majorities of Republicans and Democrats since its original passage. This shouldn’t be a partisan issue. The Senate must do whatever it takes to pass this bill.
Everyone should have the opportunity to participate in our democratic process and have their voice heard. I urge you to pass the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.
Your support is critical,
