By now, you’ve probably heard the news coming out of Virginia. Democrats were handed several tough losses including the Governor’s race. And, at the time we’re writing this, Republicans seem poised to take back the House of Delegates.
It’s not the result we wanted to see and pundits are saying it is a harbinger of what the 2022 elections might look like.
Several of Jon’s Democratic colleagues have had their races downgraded to “toss-ups” in just the last few hours. And if we lose just one of those toss-up seats next year, Republicans will take back control of the Senate and Mitch McConnell will be reinstated as Senate majority leader.
But these pundits and so-called experts are acting as if the 2022 midterms are a foregone conclusion — instead of something we have a year to prepare for and fight for as hard as we can.
We still have a long way to go and even more work to do in order to protect our Senate majority. And we’ll need your help to do it.
