In 118 days, Texans will vote in the next primary elections. The date for the 2022 primaries has been a question mark dangling over the campaign strategies of Texas candidates, due to the much-delayed availability of U.S. Census data and subsequent redistricting. Now that the new legislative districts have been signed into law, the date for the Texas primary has been set for March 1, 2022.

If any of the lawsuits already filed to contest the new maps are successful, the date could conceivably change before spring.
