Connecting the dots: Climate change adaptation, reproductive justice & resilient health care
Thursday, November 11, 14:00 UTC+0/GMT, 10:00 a.m. EST
Climate change is one of the defining crises of our time, affecting people’s sexual and reproductive health and rights around the world. Women and girls disproportionately bear the brunt of climate-related events and environmental stress. Women are more vulnerable to the impact of climate change because they lack power. In effect, climate crises deny women the ability to make their reproductive choices.
Please join Ipas, FIGO and MSI Reproductive Choices for a dynamic and important discussion on climate change, reproductive justice and resilient health systems—at the margin of the COP26 UN climate change conference and the Global Conference on Health & Climate Change.
Opening remarks by Dr. Jeanne Conry, FIGO President
Moderated by Dr. Jorge Matine, Ipas Mozambique Country Director
Panelists:
Salimata Cisse, MSI Reproductive Choices Senegal Country Director
Dr. Santosh Pandipati, Ob/gyn, climate change and women’s health expert
Skye Wheeler, Senior Researcher, Women’s Rights Division at Human Rights Watch
