The numbers are in: Democrats have lost several important seats in Virginia, including the governor’s seat. This news is already setting off alarm bells for 2022 — as it should. What happened in Virginia last night should be a wake up call for all Democrats.

Virginia — a comfortably Democratic state for the last several years — is a sign for what's ahead in 2022. Republicans' sweeping success in the state means the odds are in their favor when it comes to taking control of Congress next year. But, John we still have a chance. If we regroup and work together, we have the potential to secure some important wins next year.

Reproductive rights, expanded healthcare, and workers’ protections are all on the ballot in 2022. That’s why protecting down-ballot Democrats and flipping as many seats as we can blue is critical in next year’s midterms.
