I know the election results in Virginia weren't what we hoped for.

Last night, Glenn Youngkin, the far-right, Trump-endorsed Republican candidate, won Virginia's race for governor, and Republicans won the races for lieutenant governor and delegate seats across the state. The race for Attorney General is too close to call but it doesn't look good for my friend Mark Herring. Those results will have a significant impact for Virginians, and it's a warning sign that we cannot take anything for granted.

Here in North Carolina, we know all too well the reality of close elections. Statewide races are often decided by narrow margins. I won re-election last year by exactly 13,622 votes because each of you stepped up because you care deeply about the future of our state.

Will you step up again right now to ensure we have the resources to protect our progress and keep North Carolina moving forward?
