Last night, corporate Democrat and prolific Clinton fundraiser Terry McAuliffe lost a winnable race to an extreme Trump Republican in Virginia.

The corporate media is already echoing the evidence-free message of corporate interests that this loss is the fault of progressives. They are so eager to push this narrative because it creates the conditions to further weaken or even outright kill Bernie’s budget.

John, contrary to this false narrative, Our Revolution helped elect a slate of progressive champions in local elections across the country last night. Virginia is primarily the fault of corporate Democrats, like Joe Manchin, who have obstructed Bernie’s budget in an effort to prevent corporations and the wealthy from paying their fair share of taxes.

Corporate Democrats made sure Virginia Democrats had nothing to run on by blocking progress on Bernie’s historic investment in working Americans. Too much is at stake to let them do it again in 2022. Our Revolution helped many progressive candidates win last night, including three big mayoral victories: Michelle Wu in Boston, Justin Bibb in Cleveland, and Aftab Pureval in Cincinnati.

We also beat back establishment attacks to defend Larry Krasner and his progressive prosecutorial record in Philadelphia, among many other important wins.

The bottom line is this: progressive policies are popular and corporate Democratic obstruction is not.
