This week, world leaders including President Biden are meeting in Glasgow,
Scotland for a climate summit.

We're hopeful that the Biden Administration will demand urgent climate
action, but the harsh reality we face right now is that Republicans and
conservative Democrats are blocking much-needed investments to combat the
climate crisis.

John, it is
unacceptable to drag our feet on addressing the climate crisis any longer.
Every minute, we inch closer to hitting a point of no return — and climate
scientists have already predicted a significant increase in extreme
weather events over the next 20-30 years.

In communities like St. Louis, there are clear signs of how folks,
especially Black and brown people, are hurting because of a lack of local
funding and government support for climate action and environmental
protection.

That's why Cori has dedicated herself to bringing the push for
environmental justice to the communities hurting the most.

Cori is a co-sponsor of the Green New Deal and proudly introduced the
Green New Deal for Cities alongside Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez this
spring to bring the Green New Deal to every community. And the text of her
and Sen. Ed Markey’s Environmental Justice Mapping and Data Collection Act
is in the Build Back Better Act.

Last week, Cori stood with young activists participating in a hunger
strike outside of the White House in calling on President Biden to take
action on climate justice:
