This isn't the first time gerrymandered maps have been sent packing in North Carolina -- just last month a state court threw out the state legislative maps.

It is huge news that North Carolina's rigged congressional maps won't be in use in 2020, but the fight is not over for fair-map advocates. The state's congressional map still must be replaced, and we know that Republicans will fight with all they have to hold on to power before 2021 redistricting. We need to be ready.
