As results continue to finalize, here is the latest:

Virginia Republicans Earn House Majority

Republicans have now taken control of the Virginia House of Delegates, currently gaining a total of 6 seats for a 51 seat majority. We are continuing to monitor the Virginia House of Delegates race for District 85 as GOPAC endorsed candidate Karen Greenhalgh (R) is neck and neck with Alex Askew (D).

New Jersey Election Update

As of this morning, state Senate President Steve Sweeney (D) is headed for defeat in State Senate District 3 as he is trailing Republican challenger Edward Durr (R). Republicans are on track to gain 8 seats in the Assembly and 4 seats in the Senate.

Special Election Victories

Last night, Republicans were victorious in the following state legislative special elections:

Kentucky

House of Representatives District 51: Michael Pollack (R) defeated Edwin Rogers (D)

House of Representatives District 89: Timmy Truett (R) defeated Maetinee Suramek (D)

Michigan

State Senate District 8: Douglas Wozniak (R) defeated Martin Genter (D)

State Senate District 28: Mark Huizenga (R) defeated Keith Courtade (D)

Texas

House of Representatives District 118: John Lujan (R) defeated Frank Ramirez (D)
