Vote By Mail will win it for Phil Murphy!

Yes, I am worried, too. But just like you believed in our mission of getting New Jerseyans to vote by mail starting in 2017, have confidence that VBM ballots will be what gets Phil into office. It is a repeat of Andy Kim’s race of 2018 midterms where VBM ballots put him over the top. Take a look below at the numbers in the pink box.

VBM gives voters an option to vote that Election Day voting and even in-person Early Voting do not. And the Democrats have more requested and returned ballots. It’s these outstanding ballots that have yet to be counted. Two dates still to come:

  • November 4th - deadline for VBM ballots without postmark

  • November 8th - deadline for VBM ballots with postmark

Does VBM favor a party?

No, it does not. It simply helps make it easier for folks to vote and when you get used having a ballot in your mailbox, you remember to vote. It forms a habit of voting. So, the more one party gets their base to enroll in VBM, the fewer outreach they will have to get those folks to vote. With limited time and resources, that is critical. If you can bank on your base to vote for you with VBM, you can reach traditional “Election Day voters.”

Yours in democracy,

Uyen “Winn” Khuong
