People For Supporter,

Yesterday’s election results need to be a massive wake-up call to our
movement and to Democrats at the national level.

We’ll have more analysis about what this means for 2022 coming soon, but
make no mistake – Republicans’ victory in Virginia and the unexpectedly
close (still-undecided) race for New Jersey governor were in large part a
result of Democrats in Washington not delivering on what they were elected
to do. That goes for Build Back Better but it also goes for voting rights
and securing the basic foundations of our democracy.

We still have a chance to turn things around, but it requires the Senate
actually getting stuff done – especially to protect our fundamental rights
– and getting it done NOW.

Our series of escalating civil disobedience actions – aimed at ramping up
pressure on the Senate and on President Biden to put the awesome power of
his office to work in the fight to fix or nix the filibuster and pass
voting rights – is getting the attention of both the Senate and the
president.

We are on our way to the White House TODAY, for our latest direct action –
this one featuring youth activists, including Martin Luther King, Jr.’s
granddaughter and my own daughter, both of whom are risking arrest – and
we’ll be back next week … and the week after that…

But we need your help!

fight to protect the right to vote is ongoing and will remain a huge part
of our work into the New Year.

If Democrats can’t deliver and protect voting rights, and the result is a
far-right wave in 2022 and a possible second Trump presidency in 2024,
then you can bet that the party of the Big Lie and the Jan. 6 insurrection
WILL deliver … and that should concern anyone who cares about our
democracy.
