20201 Election Recap
While some races remain undecided and there are still votes to be counted, many races have been called and we want to provide you with a brief recap of where things currently stand.
Virginia Election Update
Last night, Republicans were victorious across the board in statewide elected offices as a red wave moved through Virginia. Voters elected Glenn Youngkin (R) as Governor, Winsome Sears (R) as Lieutenant Governor, and Jason Miyares (R) as Attorney General.
Republicans also made significant gains in the Virginia House of Delegates, gaining 5 seats to make the current divide in the Chamber more narrow. Victorious GOPAC Election Fund endorsed candidates include:
HD-12: Jason Ballard (R) defeats Rep. Chris Hurst (D)
HD-27: Rep. Roxann Robinson (R) defeats Debra Gardner (D)
HD-28: Tara Durant (R) defeats Rep. Joshua Cole (D)
HD-75: Otto Wachsmann (R) defeats Rep. Roz Tyler (D)
HD-82: Anne Ferrell Tata (R) defeats Scott Flax (D)
HD-83: Tim Anderson (R) defeats Rep. Nancy Guy (D)
HD-96: Rep. Amanda Batten (R) defeats Mark Downey (D)
New Jersey Election Update
Senator Mike Testa, a member of GOPAC's Emerging Leaders Class of 2021, was re-elected to represent New Jersey State Senate District 1. We will continue to monitor the remaining races in New Jersey and provide updates as they become available.
Special Election Victory
Dr. Donald Douglas (R) defeated Helen Bukulmez (D) in the Kentucky State Senate District 22 special election held last night.
