I have some exciting news, John.
U.S. Representative Ayanna Pressley (MA-07) has endorsed me for re-election to Congress in 2020. Representative Pressley was elected to the House of Representatives in 2018, becoming the first woman of color elected to represent Massachusetts in Congress. In her first term, she has sought to lift up the voices of community in policy making conversations around survivor justice, housing, transportation, immigration, the rights of workers, the rights of women, and many other issues, and to hold the Trump Administration accountable for their cruel and draconian policies.

Representative Pressley said that her first formal endorsements "include bold, activist leaders from across the country who are working every day to center equity and justice, and make progress on the issues of consequence facing their communities."

She released the following statement:

"During my first year in Congress, I've been proud to work alongside Rep. Blumenauer as co-chair of the Congressional Bike Caucus, where we have fought for equitable access to and investment in multi-modal transit options - and I'm excited to work with him as part of the "Future of Transportation Caucus," which will help build a more just and equitable transit future for all of our communities. Rep. Blumenauer's commitment to transit equity is emblematic of his commitment to centering the voices of community in all of his work in Congress - from his advocacy for equity in the cannabis industry to climate justice to compassionate health care reform - which has helped uplift everyone in the communities he represents."

On the first day she stepped in the halls of Congress, Rep. Pressley brought with her a bold, progressive vision for our future and has been hard at work making it a reality. We have collaborated issues that matter in our community, like the fight for equitable transportation options as my co-chair on the Congressional Bike Caucus, achieving restorative justice for communities most impacted by the war on drugs in our fight for cannabis reform, and relentlessly holding the Trump administration accountable. It has been a privilege to work alongside her to achieve our vision for a more progressive future and I look forward to continuing the fight.

John, YOU can help us take back our country and enact our progressive vision. This Saturday morning, my team and I will be knocking on doors in Portland to talk with our community about what their priorities are and what issues they are most passionate about. Can you join us?

For more info, please reply to this email.

If you're not able to join us at the canvass but would like to make a contribution to join our fight, please chip in $3 now!
