Call Into Huntington Beach City Council and Say No more Oil Investments!
|
|
In the midst of disastrous oil spill which closed local beaches across orange county, and damaged local ecosystems for years to come tonight Huntington Beach City Council is voting on a resolution to explore other investment options outside of the fossil fuel industry. Orange County Cities MUST invest in companies that protect our outside beaches and do not directly contribute to the climate crisis.
We need your help - Can you call in during public comment tonight and ask the city council to VOTE YES on Item’s 30 and 31.
Item 30 by Councilmember Kalmick - Develop A Plan and Cost Analysis to Move the City of Huntington Beach Municipal Corporation’s Power Consumption to 100% Renewable Energy.
Item 31 by Councilmember Kalmick - Divest Corporate Bond Holdings of Fossil Fuel Corporations.
We must prioritize investing our future into corporations that help us reach our climate goals - and corporate polluters and fossil fuel companies are not part of that future.
