John,

It’s official — this race is over. The last polls in Virginia have closed, and now we wait for all the votes to be counted.

While we await the results, I wanted to reach out and personally thank you for supporting my campaign.

This year has been incredibly difficult for Virginians — and for all Americans, as we fight to get this pandemic under control and begin our economic recovery.

But this campaign has shown me the best of who we are, and it’s given us a chance to address the challenges facing our future.

I ran for governor because I have a clear plan to move Virginia forward and create a better future for all. And I am deeply grateful for everyone who believed in my vision.

No matter what happens tonight, I am blown away by what this grassroots team has been able to accomplish.

We built a historic grassroots movement, we stood up to hate and division, and we fought for what we know is right.

And John, that is something to be proud of.

So when the results of this election come in — win or lose — we can rest assured that we did everything we can to create the future that we want.
