WEC (We Energies' parent) disclosed in today's 3rd quarter earnings report that they will "eliminate coal as a fuel source by 2035." Unfortunately they plan to replace some of that coal generation with natural gas - it looks like the Elm Road plant is a candidate for "fuel flexibility". None the less, this is an important and significant step.
