Dear Friends,

This fall we are excited to launch our new NRCAT U.S. Prisons Program Advisory Council which is comprised of eleven distinguished advocates who will inform and amplify NRCAT’s work to end torture in U.S. prisons. Each of these leaders represent the distinctive voice of solitary survivors in the fight to end solitary confinement while also working to end mass incarceration more broadly.

We invite you to learn more about each Advisory Council member here.

In the coming years, a key focus of the Advisory Council will be to work with our Director of U.S. Prisons Program, Johnny Perez, to expand the national movement to end solitary through advocacy strategies, media engagement, state and local legislative campaigns, and public education.

Another focus of the Advisory Council will be to support the growing NRCAT National Network of Solitary Survivors which serves as a crucial landing point for solitary and prison survivors looking for peer support, collegiality, and training.

To send a note of encouragement to these leaders, or for more information on how you can support and join this work, we invite you to email Naquasia Pollard at [email protected].

Sincerely,

Rev. Ron Stief
Executive Director
