It’s Election Day, and all eyes are on the Commonwealth of Virginia. Biden won
Virginia last year by nearly 10 points, yet it’s looking more and more likely
that Republican Glenn Youngkin may score an upset victory tonight.

 

This is terrible news for the Democrats. This race shouldn’t even be
competitive. A Republican hasn’t won statewide office in Virginia since 2009.
Whether Youngkin pulls out a victory tonight or not, the Democrats should be
terrified of what this means for the midterms next year.

 

So how did this happen? How did this race become so competitive, so quickly?
It all boils down to one issue that has dominated more than any other:
education.

 

At the beginning of October, education was barely an issue on the minds of
voters, with only 7% listing it as their top priority (compared to 32% who
listed the economy as their top issue, or 20% who said the pandemic was most
important). These education voters heavily favored Terry McAuliffe over Glenn
Youngkin.

 

But then two things happened. First, Terry McAuliffe made the audacious claim
that parents shouldn’t be involved in determining what schools teach their
children. This rightly concerned parents across the political spectrum.

 

Second, shortly after McAuliffe made that outrageous statement, Daily Wire
investigative reporter Luke Rosiak released the first of three bombshell
investigative reports showing the rot in Virginia’s schools (if you'd like to

The first report blew the top off the Loudoun County Public School District
sexual assault scandal. Rosiak showed how the Loudoun County School Board
publicly denied that a female student was raped by a male student wearing a
skirt who had entered a girl’s bathroom. Ostensibly, this was to protect the
school district’s newly-enacted radical pro-trans policies. This explosive
story enraged parents, galvanizing them to call for accountability.

 

Then, Luke Rosiak exposed Terry McAuliffe’s ties to a law firm that is
aggressively fighting against students who were victims of sexual assault in
Virginia schools. The law firm McAuliffe worked for is being paid millions of
dollars to help the Fairfax County Public School District escape responsibility
for failing to protect young girls from the abuse they allegedly suffered.

 

Finally, the Daily Wire published a report showing how Terry McAuliffe’s
education policies could pave the way to a return of “busing” — essentially
forcing students to travel long distances to attend failing schools in an
absurd attempt to promote “racial equity.”

 

By the time our third report hit the news wires, the VA gubernatorial race had
been turned completely on its head. The latest polling shows that education is
by far the top issue on the minds of voters, with the electorate trusting Glenn
Youngkin on this issue by a whopping 9 percentage points.

 

This is what happens when voters are given access to the TRUTH. The radical
Left is used to having a complicit media helping them keep their skeletons
firmly locked in the closet. They don’t know what it’s like to be held to
account for their misdeeds.

 

That’s all changing.
