Today, was bittersweet. It was an honor to stand with SGT Brian LaVigne’s family to memorialize forever part of HWY-60 in his honor.



SGT LaVigne gave 30-years of service serving and protecting the people of Brandon with Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. He paid the ultimate sacrifice on his second to last shift before a well-earned retirement stopping a dangerous criminal who was fleeing a crime in the heart of Brandon ( story [[link removed]] ).



We all, and I speak on behalf of Brandon’s 200,000 residents, are in his debt and thankful for his lifetime of service.



Let us never forget.
