John,
IT’S OFFICIAL: There will be a vote on the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act (S. 4) TOMORROW.
It’s actually a vote on whether or not the Senate should take up the issue and debate the bill — and, again, there are reports that Senate Republicans plan to block the bill from even being debated (Sen. Lisa Murkowski is the only Republican who has announced her support for the bill).
This critical legislation would prevent discriminatory voting policies and make sure that changes to voting processes that could create barriers to voting based on race or background are federally reviewed by restoring an important provision in the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
The American people deserve a vote on this historic legislation. This is about the fundamental and sacred right to vote.
Call your senators NOW at (202) 224-3121 and tell them to support the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act!

Tell your senators:
The Senate must act and pass the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act to protect the freedom to vote and guarantee equal access to the ballot box. The Voting Rights Act has been reauthorized in the Senate numerous times by overwhelming majorities of Republicans and Democrats since its original passage. This shouldn’t be a partisan issue.
Everyone should have the opportunity to participate in our democratic process and have their voice heard. I urge you to support the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.
Thanks for all you do,
